My best effort to date!

Here's a recording of a local high school band that wrote this song. It's my best one so far, it's not perfect, but i've asked quite a few questions concerning in diffent areas of this site, and have got great feedback on how to improve it. Please give it a listen and let me know what you think...I hope my link works!

It's pretty good.

The singer sings with a lot of feeling, and it's a pretty good performance. The song is pretty good, I guess, but not being my favorite genre, it reminds me a bit too much of cookie-cutter-MTV bands. For home-recorded local talent, it's pretty cool.

Basically a good mix of the instruments/vocal, but overall the mix seemed to lack midrange, and by the graphic on my Winamp, appeared to be scooped out in the midrange. Try boosting the midrange a bit for some crispness and presence in the mids.

Thanks reel, I don't have any monitors and did all the mixing through my pc speakers, so I was afraid that might happen. We did very little EQ'ing, and boosted the highs on just the accoustic guitar track. all else is flat from the mixer standpoint. Thanks for the input.
I hope Lt. bob has a chance to listen to it....

Yeah I got it.
pretty good song and performance. I also note a lack of mids although it doesn't seem as bad to me as it did to reel. I'd like the guitars up in the mix some...all of them. But a nice song for sure.
