I have a pair of 990s and 991s. Both excellent mics, though I'm not sure if they're much different. I've used the 991s on percussion and piano and it sounds amazing to me. I've only used one 990 on vocals (the other is still in the plastic), and it's still worlds better than the dynamics I've used previously.
I'm still wishing I had a B1 as well, but I'll take a good performance on an OK mic any day than a bad performance on a good mic.
