I saw this mentioned in another recent post by Delphonic, but figured it could use some advertising. Shreveaudio.com has MXL 603s for $50 each. They are not listed on their website for some reason, but you can call them at 800-214-9222 and they'll hook you up.

Didn't this site once have a "hot deals" forum? I looked but couldn't find it, unless I'm just blind...

wow

i'll have to buy me one of those....anybody had any experiences with them, are they good?

Are you asking about the vendor or the mic? Don't have an experience with the vendor, but the mic is phenomenal! Do a search, and you'll see tons of comments on the 603.

whoops sorry i was referring to the vendor =D

For $50,I'd hate to pass that up!
They have a DSP 12 listed for only $499,but most of their other stuff seems to be normal price, kind of makes me leery.
Like coffeeandtv said, anybody had any experience with them?

neirbo, have you or Delphonic ever bought from them?

Thanks,
Pete

I put in an order for 2 603s on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes. I have never bought from them before.

the dps 12 just got an upgrade so the 500.00 ones are legit and I heavily reccomend them. I want one of these mics, thanks for the Info.

if you mention that price at 8thstreet, they'll match it or at least bring their price down to $55. and 8thstreet is very reliable.

I called both Shreveaudio and 8th Street and no one's letting them go that cheaply!

Funny thing about rumors; once started, they're literally unstoppable.

Rumor?

Mine shipped today. Two MXL 603s at $49 each from Shreve Audio. Sounds like at least two other folks on this thread got similar quotes.

maybe after word got out, that was the end of that special. I mentioned that I was in contact with others on an internet recording forum who have gotten that deal but they denied. I only wanted one; not sure if that makes the difference.

thanks anyway.

This sounds awfully familiar. I read the same thing about the 603s at Shrieve being $49 about half a year ago. I called them up, confirmed the price, and ordered them. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from them saying they were $69. I cancelled the order.

I'm not sure what the deal is with this Shrieve Audio place, but I won't be buying anything from them.

I called to check on the status of my order, and while I was on the phone asked about the sudden price increase. They told me that I got the last pair from their last shipment at the low price. Their new shipment cost them more, so they are now selling the 603s at $69. That's their story at least. I am more inclined to think they screwed up on my price and I just got lucky.

Anyone able to get a hold of musiciansadvocate?

I normally refuse to buy from anyone who says: "Call us for the price" and then doesn't answer their phones. But I might be willing to soften my stance if I can get a hold of the 603 for $50.

Tell them to give Chessrock a call if they ever get done being "on the other line or busy with customers." :)

Due to a mix up on my part, I ended up with an extra 603. Anyway, I thought I'd give one of you guys the chance to buy it from me at cost before I go to Ebay. I got it at the low price at Shreve, and I'm not looking to make a profit from anyone here. So, I'll sell it for what it cost me - $55. Shipping will cost around $5, so lets just say $60 shipped. It is brand new, I didn't even take the mic out of its plastic shipping sleeve.

Hope this isn't violating some code of ethics, but I wanted to give you guys first crack at the mic. First reply gets it.

By the way, Shreve was fine. Quick shipping, good packaging. They didn't send me a tracking number, which was a little annoying, but I probably could have got one if I called their customer service line.

I used to live in Shreveport and bought my monitors from them ages ago. Good to see they are making it as a mail order shop because Shreveport isn't exactly a Pro Audio town.
