hey folks
have an epi tom delonge sig guitar with a gibson dirty fingers humbucker but no matter what setting a change on my amp etc. the guitar always sounds muddy and muddled up i just cant seem to get a good crisp sound from the guitar no matter what, this has driven me to the point of thinking about selling it even though i don't want to,
can anyone give me some advise on what to do to try get a cleaner crisper sound from the guitar?
kindest regards
Tony

It will depend on the amp as well, or course, but the Dirty Fingers is just Gibson's take on a Super Distortion. So some clean or sparkling tone is sacrificed for high output and now you rely more on the amp for clean. You can always change the pickup for an Alnico II model and get closer to 'that clean and sparkling' tone.

i use a vox ac15vr amp with a 2x12 cab..i also use an epi les paul junior and that sounds 100 times better than the delonge sig..on distortion the delonge guitar sounds awful which i am very disappointed with as that is what i was mainly going to use the guitar for..even when i turned the gain down to about 2 or 3 the guitar still sounded horrible..really dont know what else to with it!
