Ok im pumped about the MR-8 yada yada, but before I buy i need to clear some stuff up.

1. is it possible to record a song with 8 tracks, up load it to my computer and the burn?

2. is this scenario possible....record on tracks 1-4 on the MR-8, export as a wav file to cakewalk, record 4 new tracks, upload to cakewalk and all 8 tracks flow together?

Any help is great!

!) Yes.
2)Theoretically, you could do that ad infinitum. you need to keep at least one track on the MR 8 to use as a reference to sync to as you play, but, as long as they are recorded to a common track (click works as long as you have a count in and know all your changes), then you could put any number of tracks together and mix and output as a wav file. If, however you are asking can you sync 2 separate recordings that have nothing in common, then the answer would be I don't know (anythings possible, but it would be difficult)

dyuob is correct. If everything is recorded at the same tempo, you'll be fine. I have tracks recorded against two different backings that I can sync up in n-Track (Cake should be the same).

If your tracks are totally different from a tempo/key perspective I think Sonic Foundry's Acid can handle that, to a degree.

Ok i think that answers my? and yes i am talking about the tracks having the same tempo. so is this thing worth every penny? if so i will order tonight....

Whether it's a bargain all depends, really. Read some of Pete Halo's comments about the VF-16 to make sure this fits your needs.
