Toss-up between this forum & newbie. Just bought an MR-8 & once spent a little time with a Tascam analog 4-track.
Doesn't panning require 2 tracks? Is it better through an effects box? What's a stereo source? Can I still send an internally mixed-down tune to an editor, like N-Tracks?The answers to these questions could really get this off the ground and I would deeply appreciate that.
Thanx,

Get the Mr-8. Nope panning doesn't require 2 tracks. On the MR-8 you can pan tracks 1-4. If you have mixed down the track to a stereo wav file - you can export it but it won't do you much good unless that is the final mix.

My advice would be to use all 8 tracks , export those to N-tracks and mix them there. Then you casn keep adding tracks without bouncing down. I have gone up to 20 tracks recorded on the Mr-8 and mixed down on the PC.

The Mr-8 is a great little tool.
