Hey all...I made a quick search, as I'm sure this has come up, but didn't find anything.
After two years of heavy use, my trusty Red beast broke down last night. I went to press "Play/Record" and the Record button broke and went into the machine. I love the MR-8 for demos and for working on ideas, so I want to fix or replace it.
At $229 for a new MR-8, is it even worth getting fixed? I hate to take the thing into the shop and then pay a minimum service charge if I decline the estimate....not to mention I can simply order a new one without getting up off my duff
Just saw the MR-8 vs MR-98 mkII thread...I'm not seeing any big advantage for the extra $20 (I use an external preamp, so phantom isn't that big a deal). Anybody care for the wheel instead of the buttons (what...no "Record/Yes" combo?)
Thanks.
