[FONT=Book Antiqua]hello music community.

I have a question on how to use all 256 pathches on jv1010 with a mpc2000xl,the mpc 2000xl, has a program that only goes up to 127.
:confused: how can this be done?

Please. Don't. Try. Clever. Formatting.

The secret to getting to the higher patches in the JV1010 lies in a portion of the midi spec known as 'bank select'. These can be entered into a track of the MPC by first consulting the Roland manual in the back under 'midi implementation'. What you will be looking for is Bank Select Commands, and these will be in the form of continuous controllers. It may be a combination of controller 6 and controller 38 or it may be controller 0 and controller 32.

To insert these in an MPC track go to the step edit page, rewind the sequencer to the start of the track and push 'insert'. This will bring up a screen that has options for note, pitch bend, program change etc. The one we are concerned with is 'control change'. Enter the bank number that you found in the Roland manual in one or two control change numbers, then in a separate entry enter the program change number for the sound you want the track to play.

Mpc 2000xl and jv1010

:) thank you for sharing this art of midi. when i enter the formula into the mpc, must there be a sequence pressent?

and does the control change for the jv1010 has to be turn on? it has numbers from 1 to 16?

on the jv1010 control change has a formula on the wave exp
this formula is refering to patches 129-256

MSB 84 AND LSB 3

on the mpc when i enter control change, i add the bank sel msb but where do i put the bank? there is a number 0, and in the mpc manual says that is refering to the velocity level.

one more question. on the patch of the jv1010 do i have to set the number to 129? when i perfom the control change on the mpc :confused:

has you can see i am new to this area of midi :eek:
