sounds like a winner,, but i dont have the room for all my couter top modules. Guess I will have to make room.
we'll see how it works out

tj jr.

Get yourself a MPC 2000Xl. There about a $1000.00 now. You can probably find one used for alot cheaper.

Buy the MO' Phatt sound module for $499.00 and use the MPC as the controller. If you need more sounds for synths and such, you can add up to 2 or 3 chips in the MO' Phatt for keyboard sounds like the Proteus 2000, etc..

You won't find a better combination for sequencing IMHO and the pads on the MPC feel great!

maybe. Ya never know. Anyhow,, Ive been working with it and have been commin up with alot of shyt. Ive been working around all my glitches except the inablility to control my external sampler with it. It lets me trigger it,, but when i record it into the mix,, it doesnt replay it. any how.,,, im gonna keep it,, im lovin the sound in it.

RM1X -> MP7-> S1000
that's a cool setup! I'm thinking about adding an RM1X to my list of gear. My current setup looks like this:

Oxygen 8 keyboard -> XL-7 -> Korg EM-1 -> Korg MS2000R -> Oberheim OB12 -> Roland RPC31Pro audio interface -> Emagic Logic

This means that I can use the Oxygen keyboard to "play" the EMU, EM1 and MS2000R (I only turn down the volume of the devices I'm not interested). Also, if I set the tempo at the XL-7, all devices have the same bpm (including Logic). Makes my life very easy. When I hit "play" at the XL-7, both the XL-7 and EM1 start playing the drum/beat line in sync. Pretty easy setup which works great for me. With this setup I can also use the fantastic keyboard of the OB12 to play the soft synths in Logic (e.g. virtual Fender Rhodes pianos, etc). I can also use the whole chain in reverse, so when I hit "play" in Logic, it starts playing the recorded tracks plus the XL7 and EM-1. It's kinda confusing, though, coz sometimes I don't hear what's already recorded and what's playing life, so I don't use this very often.

sorry lazi,, i didnt get to try it. It requires too much space.. Hopefully I will try it sometime soon

I sometimes gotta put my MPC on my cooler or use the extra chair I keep around so I can get at it while sitting down... Maybe try something like that for some extra space...

Never used the MP7 myself but the RM1X and anything is a hellafide combo...
