This is the forum for me, because I am very much a newbie.

I'm not really a serious home recorder, nor do I intend to be. I simply have a lot of old vinyl that's been laying around for years, and I am ready to start converting it to MP3 files.

I have a cheap Numark turntable which came with EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter. The installation of software and setup of hardware was easy enough. The interface for the recording software is extremely basic. I'm having no problems there.

The problem I am having is, after my recording is complete, the EZ Coverter sofware asks me to input the Track Name, Album Name, and Artist Name. After I complete this, it then begins to import the music into iTunes. Everything seems great - the track, album, and artist all appear properly in iTunes.

My problem is the actual file name for the MP3 file itself when I view it through Windows Explorer. It's naming the files Temp1, Temp2, Temp3, etc.... This is VERY bothersome to me. I do not want to manually rename file-by-file (I have crates of vinyl!). It makes no sense to me that the EZ software would prompt me for the music info (track, album, artist) and not use that info to name the MP3 file.

My ultimate plan is to make DVDs (not CDs) of collections of my MP3s and I want to be able to identify my music through Windows Explorer (not iTunes).

Any advice in configuring EZ Converter to automatically/properly name these MP3 files would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've always had to rename individual files doing a similar process... perhaps there's some bulk file name modifier program that would make it easier, however...

Sorry, can't be of more help.

Don't bother converting to MP3 cos MP3 is bad quality. Convert to WAV
