Greetings:

I've recorded about 2 continuous hours of our band live (in 7 simultaneous tracks) with a Zoom R16. I then imported each of the 7 tracks into Pro Tools 7.3. I'd like to somehow separate the songs (each containing 7 recorded tracks) so I can mix, fix and master the songs separately. In other words, i'd like to cut the 7 tracks of each song and paste them into a new PT session for each separate song.

I'm stuck....Any thoughts on how to do this?

best regards...Joe

import the 7 tracks, highlight what you dont want, right click, cut....you have song 1
import the 7 tracks, highlight what you dont want, right click, cut....you have song 2
import the 7 tracks, highlight what you dont want, right click, cut....you have song 3

and so on....

What thajeremy said is probably the easiest way of doing it.

Of course.... that's so simple and obvious that now i'm concerned about early onset Alzheimer's.

I was getting hung up on how to select, copy and move to a NEW song, which I couldn't do because when you open another song the files are gone from the "clipboard" and there's nothing to paste! Then I started hunting for the right regions to move, and that got confusing...

thanks alot, guys!!

LOL @ the part regarding Alzheimer's. Then again, it's not such a funny issue.

I'm glad you found some help here!
