ok so here we go. i just recently ordered my motif es rack form sweetwater.com and plan on hooking it up to my other gear. now i have an mpc 1000, an alesis micron, adn my pc with reason 3.0 that i use now. i have a motu fastlane usb for my midi interface for the reason sounds. now how will i set up the motif es rack to where i can use my micron to control the pc and the es rack and sequence all in my mpc. just which peice of gear do i use the midi thru on? never had more than two peices of gear other than the pc and micron doing sounds into moc at once. not sure. any help would be appreciated. peace

Assuming you have a big enough mixer to accept all your audio inputs, hook up the midi side like this ---

First, find the 'Local on/off' switch in the Micron and set it to 'off'. This will break the connection between the keyboard and the sounds inside.

Now connect the midi out of the Micron to input 1 of the MPC. Next, hook the midi A output of the MPC to the midi in of the Motif. If you want to set up a template sequence in the MPC the first 14 channels/tracks should be for the Motif and the last 2 for the Micron which is multi timbral but only 8 voice. Connect the midi thru of the Motif to the midi in of the Micron.

Connect midi out B of the MPC to your Fastlanes input, then put Reason in midi clock mode.

Once you get all the audio outputs ready to go you'll have one smooth setup.
