MoreMe Headphone Trouble...

I like them for what they are. I don't worry about handing them out to the kids, I don't worry about someone dropping them or abusing them and they get the job done. They're great for tracking and have some pretty darn good isolation. You CAN'T get decent cans that do this much for the same price.

For critical listening I'll use my Sony's, for mixing...nothing...that's the only right answer.

Let's keep it fair ok!

I own some moreme's, and I like them. But guess where I learned about them from? Well of course, from THIS BBS!

Now, certainly, I did not hear about any of the people that were unhappy about them before buying, and as luck would have it, they worked out just fine for me.

So, while I agree that possibly thousands of people might see this "negative" thread, and not read it through to see that Harvey made good on them, Harvey HAS enjoyed a LOT of "positive" threads about his headphones, and I am sure had turned a tidy profit as a result!

So, while I probably would have tried to contact Harvey first before posting a thread, I don't find it unusual that somebody would not. Harvey has benefited greatly from good exposure on this BBS for the MoreMe's, and this is the ONLY thread I know of with anything negative to say. I am sure this thread has done little to slow down sales.

If you are profiting from BBS exposure which is free, you have to be prepared for the negative stuff too. In the end, it is all fair really. ;)

As to the MoreMe's. For the money, I really like them! They are certainly NOT the best headphones I have ever used, but they are a far cry better than anything in their price range and lower!!! I would buy more if I was still tracking whole bands. The warranty is simply the best in the business too! :D

Me neither- lots of people, for whatever reason, put contacting the maker (or even looking at their website) at the bottom of their problem-solving list, instead of at the top.
 
Well, this BBS is the single reason for MoreMe's existence, as I've said many times before. In order to get the price down low, I had to buy in bulk from the distributor, and that meant I had to sell the extra phones that I didn't need somewhere. I tried to talk some of the major chains into carrying them, but nobody was interested. That's when I kinda backed into the headphone business.

The warranty came about the same way. I hate bullshit from manufacturers. I've lived with that bullshit all my life.

I decided that since I had decent control over these products, I was gonna run this company like I thought a company should be run: no bullshit explanations of what the product was (and was not), honest specs, and a no bullshit warranty that basically said "if you're unhappy with them (for any reason), send them back".

I run the studio the same way. We try our damnedest to make musicians happy with the recordings we do. If they're not happy, I've given people their money back (rarely, but it has happened).

And I understand that any product will be liked and disliked, including mine; that's life.
 
One problem:
Since I record all instruments and vocals of my own music, could be 24 tracks, how can I use the "More Me" headphones?

Since it is *all* me, could I just turn up the volume on my regular headphones and save money?

Please advise

For the record, I'm a happy moreme customer. after using them for a while, my only real gripe is how tightly wound the spiral cord is. If I lean more than 3' away from my desk, the mixer risks being pulled onto the floor. You need an extension for pretty much anywhere you use them.

This has been pissing me off a bit lately, and since this thread was here I figured WTF. Sound-wise, though, it's a great deal.

No, since they're "all you", you need 24 pair of MoreMe headphones, each one labeled as to what track is playing.

To use them properly in this mode, set them all to the MONO position, and remove the ear cups from the headband. Set them face up on a long table, and arrange them as to the mix placement you desire, string headphones on the left, background vocal headphones on the right, etc. By moving the different phones around on the table, you can get a perfect stereo balance.

I use a 6 foot ladder to stand over the top of the table. The ladder must, of course, be perfectly centered, and all the headphones must be cranked to typical drummer headphone levels.

Yeah, that's a problem. The short cord sucks in that situation.
 
This thread reminded me I wanted to order some things form Harvey too. Going to do that now...
 
oddly enough, this thread reminded me that I need to pick me up some moremes as well. Time to sell a mic or two..
 
Come on guys, you know I dont need to be buying headphones right now, but you're trying to tempt me anyway, aren't you? Maybe after some new monitors, rack case, patch bay, and compressor...

I'm glad to find this thread - it reminded me I need to buy some moreme headphones, too. What a great, practical, economical deal Mr. Gerst is providing for the community. Thank you, Harvey, for your kind service to the homerecording community! :)

I have a shoebox full of 7509s and the like. Yours will go soon enough. What will happen is the left side will go out. Thats how those jap headphones break. Sonys DJv700 ? headphones and V900s are much better but the v900s were 200$

I've been in business many times before, so I'm pretty familiar with pricing, warranty costs, shipping, etc.

And no, I don't make a hell of a lot of money on the headphones or the cables. But, since the original reason for buying these was for our studio's use, other factors came into play. Like ensuring a supply for our use, and, since I had to buy so many for a reasonable price, that's where the "business" started.

The warranty and shipping policies came about because I was tired of the BS from a lot of companies about their outrageous shipping charges, and bad warranties - they treat you like you're an enemy.

And our return rate is surprisingly low - they really do what I wanted studio headphones to do.

The money from Studio A and B covers most of our living expenses; the MoreMe's pay for cigarettes and beer.

The only thing that surprised me about the MoreMe popularity is how well they're being accepted by the really big "pro" studios; I really didn't expect that.

Hey Harvey I received your headphones early this week. Already cracked open the first pair and had like 5 sessions using them... ahhhh I love the smell of new equipment. :D
