Sounds pro, but I don't get this kind of music. So, I wouldn't be able to tell you how good it is lol.

see if your daughter dances, if she does...win ;)

thanks for listening Phil

Jeez, when you mentioned this in another thread, I thought you meant you were inventing a genre with that name. I didn't realize that this was already an established sub, sub genre...

I think this production is really good. I wonder if it might be a bit bass-lite in general though? I dunno, as it seems the expectations for electronic genres are very specific, so there may be strict bass level requirements.

Style-wise, I guess I'm not so fond of this as your other stuff which is more chaotic and aggressive sounding. This is a little lighter and more predictable maybe. I like the deep, fat (phat?) synths in the middle which are more reminscent of your other works. I thought all of the vocal bits worked really well.

The whole middle section reminded me and my kids of a european soccer match. I think I even heard that horn in there somewhere? I really don't like saxophones, if that is in fact what's going at the beginning and end there...not relevant at all...just had to get that out there. Well done though. Good to hear something from you!

I just post tracks here and as soon as someone mentions bass-lite i just push it a little more...I think it works out far cheaper than room treatment in the end :D

I will look at it again...I still havent approached a couple of other things as it was pool and beer time today...plus i got the full amplitube for the ipad

holy shit some of the crap Ive got on that is great

anyhoo...you dont like sax??? is this because I hate country, Pete...are we having a flame war?? MODERATORS!!! lol

I never got the soccer match thing till you said it, its the air horns and the "lets play" sample...I just went to LA last week to watch Galaxy play, it mustve been my inspiration...though they were shite :)

Good stuff there, dude. The kick sounds like it has an almost complete lack of low-end, but I think that's on purpose. The bass-line fills out the low-end nicely, though. I didn't hear anything harsh anywhere else. Thanks for keeping this place alive, man... Good to hear another of yours.

Thanks for listening J, im thinking one of the kicks could do with a little more low end, Ill prolly fix this tonight

hope youre well mate, havent seen one of yours up for a while...you busy?

Hmmm. Moombahton?
I was seriously expecting it to be a jungle/drum n' bass track.
WRONG. by about 100 bpm :D

Only thing I could say mix wise would be indeed more kick.
I would also "sharpen" the horns (? not the airhorn. the other wind sounding thing. the sax?) a bit. But I would figure that adding more low end on the kick would take care of that w/o boosting treb.
That's about it though. I'm not very useful when it comes to mixing :(.
Besides, there's never much wrong with your mixes. They always sound pro.

yup more kick
horns, sax, and guitar all need to come up...the horn section at the end could do with being a bit brighter too

and you say your not very useful when it comes to mixing? ;)

I tell you when youve been going through some of those dubstep style edits, mixing stuff like this seem almost too easy...I think thats why I overlooked so much detail

thanks for listening KK, suns out, Im away hiking...how very electro! lol

OK Rob, I had a feeling the highs and LFs were prolly a little off but ill check the mids too

I do hype it a bit before I put it on here, Ill just zero everything and leave it with the limiter and see if that sounds better

yeah Moombahton, its a new thing every week lol...I like the sort of latin and world feel some of it has though the genres pretty sparse, I think Ill try a couple as its not too far away from what Ive been trying

now I need a spanish singer, hows yours? ;)

Ha, non-existent I'm afraid. I can muster a little German, but it's not a language that tends to lend itself to song...

Hoping to have something new up on here soon, but between wedding planning and navel gazing I seem to have lost my ability to actually finish stuff!

Had a listen to the new mix - I can't say for sure without hearing it directly against the previous one - but the balance seems better now. I think you've got more body in the mix here.

Yeah Im not bad at the duetsch myself

my second album is going to be called "Ich bin ein Kartoffelsalat, bist du?" :)

Ive tackled the mix and implemented what I thought was wrong, I think its there but Ill give it a blast in the car later...i went to the beach to listen to some tracks the other day, and couldnt get the car out of the sand lol, dumbfuck

So, is the mix up top new yet, or is it the same?

I listened again last night and while it still sounds great, I wasn't 100% sure I heard anything too different...?

I expect your remixes to be posted promptly in the future!

Sorry about the sax, it really fits here, but there's something about that instrument that has always turned me off. It always conjures up images of like the Motels or the E Street Band or something....ewwww.

I know what you mean about saxes, theres something so sleazy about them...i like them as i love 60s soul musice and they feature in them, but only them...anything else is like polyester!

It is a different mix, the beauty of dropbox is once the links up it remains the same, you just replace the file...if it doesnt sound too big a change thats cool, i didnt go mental on the faders or anything :)

Phew! That's a relief. If it'd been a wildly different mix I would've felt like an idiot.

The middle section really moves along nicely. That's where my kids warmed up to it and their heads started moving.

This one is definitely growing on me...even the suxaphone!

Much boombastic, bruddah!

If the mix at the top of the thread is the new mix, I would have to say that for me, it's still light on the bottom end. I love the composition; it has a very positive vibe; uplifting and happy dance.

I would offer one small suggestion, through, which would be to actively pan the upward sweeping woosh sample across the center as it rises. It feels really artificial and dead just sitting there.

Very nice overall. Fire up da dutchie, mon!!!!!

Very clear mix and open arrangement. A change from your more densely populated festivals.
'Tis gutt butt I prefer your spooky music.
You really ought to do something with a "we all float down here" sample.
I look forward to your album - will you be doing actualy CDs?
Oh, have you decided to get THAT song I love so much - the one with your vocal - mastered & include it?
I quite like the less cellular restructuring bass on this. Not every track needs to affect one's water!

He welcome to the forum mate :)

Damn bass still a little low? It the first track i havent layered anything, i just want to leave the bass as a bass guitar...maybe one of the kick samples need swithched as theres very little thud in either sample, on purpose...maybe a room reverb on the lower one will maybe help it boom a little...i dont want to fuck around with it too much as i liked it..

Noted about the noise sweeps...im thinking that maybe ill leave the pan placement but automate a stereo enhacer to they open and close as they increase/decrease in volume? Might be a solution??

Hi Ray, thanks for listening mate

I wouldnt include that song, ive kept it as i aim to redo the vocals again, the thing is i dont know how to approach them as i didnt know i was out of key lol

...ive around 16 tunes that are good enough, i reckon, and im cutting them down to 12 i think...there will be CDs available...just have to figure out how to approach the cover art without getting sued for knicking a picture ;)
