I just got a pair of KRK RP5's. I was wondering if putting up mineral wool panels in my room will help the sound in the room. I want a flat sound...will foam or dampening materials help?

well a little, but it won't get you totally flat. Just depends on your room and how strategic you get with absorption and diffussion.

The best advice I can give you (trying to keep it simple) is that your biggest problem is going to be your front-to-back, side-to-side, and top-to-bottom walls.

Acoustics gets alot more complex, but if you can kind of grasp that, then I would recommend some reading on room modes. we might be 10 years apart, but I was once an intelligent 12 year old myself.

My age displayed is wrong...

i know that adding absorption panels at the front and back of the listening position will eliminate any standing waves created as the sound hits the wall, but what sort of material is good? Will those pink fiberglass insulation wool be any good?
