Monitoring Solution (not Central Station or Big Knob)

Ideally I want a Central Station to route all my monitoring tasks, but alas, it's too expensive, especially if you figure in the remote control. I looked into the Big Knob, but it doesn't seem to be well liked, or that good of a value. Plus it's backordered till who knows when.

I need something to control levels for one set of monitors (maybe 2 at some point), control room headphones and a separate headphone mix for the live room, all independent of each other. Is this possible with a small mixer?

I have limited knowledge of this stuff so please bear with me. My budget is around $300. Thanks for your help.
 
Would that unit degrade my monitoring path at all? It seems like it's too cheap to be true.
 
samson is crap...save up for a Central Station or better yet a Cranesong Avocet

I'm sure that it would for that price. Can't be too expensive components in there. My gues is it has cheapo opamps which will degrade your monitoring. If that is so then you are hurting a very important chain in what you are hearing from what you should be hearing.
