Monitored sound only comes through right channel while recording

When wearing earphones while recording vocals, the sound from the mic only comes through the right channel whereas, of course, the music that is already recorded comes through both. How can I overcome this and be able to monitor my vocals in mono through both sides of the earphones?

Here is how I set it up:

Condensor mic --> JoeMeek 3Q --> Audiophile 24/96

I then take the Audiophile output straight to the headphones.

I'd appeaciate any help. I can give more details if needed.

Are you plugging stereo headphones into a non-stereo source? :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought that would work but it doesn't. here is what is happening in more detail.

The output from the audiophile is stereo - and so are the headphones. the problem is that the input from the preamp is mono. So although the sounds already recorded are stereo, the sound that goes through from the input while recording only goes in on the right channel - and so only comes out on the right channel.

Is there any way of making the input come out on both channels? I tried ticking "stereo link" in the audiophile controls but that didn't work.

Use a mono track in your recording s/w rather than a stereo track.....
