i bought the roland 1880 now i have been thinking of buying a real pair of monitaor speakers. i know roland makes a pair of digital speakers with changeable algorythms. do you think this is the way to go. or do you think any pair of monitor speakers will do.

ive got the 1680 and a set of the 20/20 passives with a hafler power amp and couldnt be happier. i listened to the roland monitors and plenty of others and ended up getting the 20/20's. the ability to hear what your mixes would sound like on a bunch of different things with just a push of a button sounded cool but overall the rolands just sounded a little weak. im not sure how much they cost but you should be able to get something better for less money. just go have a listen to a bunch of different monitors a pick the ones that sound right for you. rock on

I use the Roland DS90A's with my 880 and have NEVER heard anything with more faithful reproduction of the source material. Oftentimes, A wife will walk in and think their husband is still singing live. I don't think you can do better than that!

Sure you can.........a girlfriend

I use Spirit by Soundcraft. Sound great. How ever, I am interested in the Roland things. I too have a 1680. How do the simulation things work?
