Well
I'm not sure for a fact but the MXL2001 and the SCM900 may be the exact same microphone inside; just different grills and housing with different names and numbers silk-screened on them.
I know for a FACT that the MXL2001 is Shanghai Feilo Electronic-Audio Equipment Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, China. I don't know for a FACT where
the Nady SCM900 is made but A LOT of evidence is pointing toward that same company. Especially since I know for a FACT that the ADK A-51 and
Joe Meek JM-47 is made by Shanghai Feilo Electronic-Audio Equipment Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, China and are the EXACT same mics as the MXL2001 internally; plus most likely a few others.
Which MXL models does Mars have going for $99 and have going for $200?
Here are the models:

I know the MXL2001 usually goes for around $200 or less.
Maybe the MXL1000 is the one going for $99? Is that a new mic? I've not seen it before. If it IS going for $99 and it sounds decent enough, I'd say it might be worth using as a live condenser mic; when SM-58 aren't cutting it and you really can't afford to spend more than that.

The link worked, but there's NOTHING under "Music", only under "Info", "Contact", etc.
Funny you liked the 2001 better than the NT-1. You must have been lucky enough to have gotten a "good sounding" 2001. The thing with 2001s is that the quality control SUCKS! Go down and listen to 5 different 2001s right next to eachother. You'll be lucky to find 2 which sound even close to the same. Heck, 2 2001s with consecutive serial numbers doesn't even increase the chances of them sounding similar to eachother.
Now you know why all the reviews greatly differ more than usual.
