i used it as a standalone by exporting the vocal part opening it with the melodyne and played with it like that, but i wanna be able to use it in cubase

So, what version of Melodyne do you have? What does the manual say to do? I have Melodyne Editor and that may work differently from what you have purchased. For me, there is a plug-in called Melodyne Bridge. This allows transfer between Cubase and Melodyne, in kind of a 'Rewire' setup. I have heard of a version of Melodyne that works as a plug-in as a VST. Whatcha got man?

i have the Melodyne editor too, ya i actually saw a video on youtube some guy talknig in chinese. and he goes to insert on the channel and it says melodyne bridge but mine doesnt

Then it may have been an issue with the installer. I can help you a bit more in the morning when I am not working. It may have something to do with where the installer placed the Melodyne Bridge '.dll'. Installers are stupid. They don't all know where to put them. Most ask when installing, but if you don't know the correct folder, then it can be placed wherever..'VSTPlugins' will always be the correct folder for Cubase. Whether you are using 32 or 64bit versions will decide which Programs folder it will be in.

ah i c btw i dunt ahve vari audio, its not seen where it should be, but i have cubase studio 5 and not cubase 5, could that be why??

Yep. Only the full version has it. Be clear man. Your version of DAW is very important, as is all your gear specs.

So what is it you 'c'?

You need to help me to help man. The system you are trying to run this on, OS version, CPU, hell, the name of your dog might be helpful.

hahaha its on a imac, i tried finding that file called melodine bridge and i cant find it, would it work if i put it in the vst file?

I'm confused. You cant find the Melodyne bridge, but you want to know where to put it? I need to go to bed. My brain is toast. I get up at 4:30AM. 11:30 PM here now. Hit me up in the morn and we can try to figure out the steps. :D

melodyne would have created a .dll file - move that into your plug-ins folder. (and any other files folders in the containing folder)

or

:RTFM:

:)

not on an imac it wouldn't.

The RTFM bit is spot on though. ;)

It depends on the final product, I have heard mixes that are not worth the price some people have paid for them.

Yes you can. That is basically how it works anyway. There should be a VST in your plugins list called 'Melodyne Bridge'. All it does is transfer the audio back and forth between the freestanding Melodyne and Cubase. Figuring out how to get this working will be much easier. Otherwise you need to export to Melodyne, a separate mix without vocals along with the vocal track, as you really want the music there while correcting pitch. PITA.

What do the installation instructions say to do with Cubase? I don't recall having to do anything special. It just worked.

thanks for the help man wish i could repay you guys somehow lol
