I've got a pair of powered Event PS5's for monitors and they sound canney. These are my first pair of monitors so I don't know if this is normal or not. I know that made to be flat. Please advise

Thanks

Did they sound "canney" in the store when you tried them out?

Maybe they sound phasey? Try hooking up a CD player directly to them as your source and see if they sound the same, you could have phase problems in your mixing set up.

Your Monitors shouldn't sound funny, they should sound clear, and flat. You should be able to listen to a CD that you know the sound of really well, and it should sound as good (or better than) as you have ever heard it through a Hi-Fi system(at least a close range, those are nearfield monitors!)

Yeah if it doesnt sound better than a regular cd on your monitors than theyre not workin...check your phase and if that dont work Id take em back and get something better...
