mixing to cd (standalone cd recorder) from a set of portastudios.any sugestions? tanx

hello everyone,

my setup will consist of 2 or 3 tascam portas (246, 488 or 424), and i would need to mix down to a cd. i want to leave the computer totally out of the equation so im looking at standalone cd recording units..

ive looked at stuff like the Tascam CDRW5000, but its a little out of budget, unless i strike a good deal...but then again, i dont even know if this is exactly what i need...

can you guys throw some options here so i can make this work, totally without a computer? best bang for the buck would be very much apreciated.

many thanks!

I mix down from a Tascam 488MKII to an Alesis Masterlink. I drew out of my savings for this unit and it has been worth every penny. Mix down to it, apply DSP to your tracks and burn off CD's at your lesuire. Its very intuative to use and the DSP are easy to apply in real-time and include: Normalising/Limiting/Compression & EQ...

You can get them in the UK from as low as £570. Bargain!

Ben,

many tanx!
but thats waaaay over my budget...
for that i could get the tascam CDRW5000, and still end up with 400 quid to get whatever...im looking for something 200 euros tops..

i heard pioneer makes good/cheap units..

i really cant spend that much, or else i would :/

thanks anyway...

any more sugestions?
