Hi,
For a while now I have been recording directly into a zoom mrs-802 multitrack but recently was given a FREE Behringer UB1832FX-PRO mixing desk. As eager as I am to play with this new toy, I am a little bit overwhelmed by all the outputs, inputs, knobs etc.
What I would like to know is if anyone has a similar setup and can tell me what cables I need and how to hook the two of them up together.

If it helps I can tell you the mrs8 has two XLR/Jack inputs (two in one sockets), a seperate jack input and an AUX out.
The Behringer has XLR main outputs, jack main outputs, ctrl room outputs, sub-outputs, monitor output and cd/tape outputs.

Also I did try connecting from the main jack outputs, but got a lot of noise.

If anyone can offer any help I'd be very grateful.
Thanks

Unless you needed to mix down a multitrack mix to the two inputs on the mrs 802 to add more than the 12 you can use on mixdown in the mrs 802, I don't see the point in adding the mixer to the schematic.

Thanks for the reply. I see what you mean, but I was hoping to get some use out of the EQ's and effects of the mixer whilst recording.

By all means, go to it!

That's the best way to get to know the controls/routing on your mixer.

You could use it to monitor vocals with effects while recording, or use the preamps to add some gain to two channels. That's about it, I'm afraid.
Buy yourself a couple of powered speakers and you have your live PA.
