mixer connects

hiya folks,
you've all been good to me in the past, so here's another one.

i'm using the mbox/ibook/protools set up. the mbox has two xlr inputs. i'd like to do some live recordings. i.e. through a mixer.
so here's my question,

do mixers have xlr outputs? i'm guessing they'd give the least amount of degradation, keep everything in phase etc.

depends

it depends on the specific mixer, but most of them do have xlr outputs.

most of them also have BALANCED 1/4 TRS which is the same as the xlr (elecrtically) and is easily adapted.

you would just have to check the specific one you get.

i figured it might be a stupid question, a friend has one of those cheap behringer eurorack's and it's got the 1/4" stereo out. if they do the job, then i've no problems!
