I'm setting up to do mixdowns on a Korg D1600 multitrack workstation with my powered JBL LSR25p's. I do want to keep the path between the Korg and the JBL's clean. The mixing is done internally on the Korg with a simple stereo output from the Korg to the JBL's for monitoring.

I'd like to also occasionally run sound output from my computer and from other sources besides the Korg to the JBL's. Is it "safe" to run the monitor output of the Korg through another mixer on the way to the JBL's? Then i could just switch to the other gear with that mixer when the need arises. (Obviously need to keep the mixer settings flat and levels clean for the Korg)
Better way?
Bad idea altogether?

Thanks

I think you answered your own questions.

Clearest sound = shortest signal path. :)

The instances you want to run other equipment to the JBL's, go through the mixer. :)
