okay Im looking for someone to mix this track for me....... the point of this is so that I can see the potential of my setup wit a lil bit of know how....... Im wondering if its that my signal chain sucks or is it that I just dont know what Im doing...... the entire session was done in Adobe Audition so I dont really know if its possible to load it into other programs or not..........

The track is only vocals over a pre-mixed instrumental....... i recorded each verse three times... for panning purposes.... and two adlib tracks.... then I did each part of the hook twice.... hard left and hard right was my idea

ANY TAKERS??

if anyone wants to try tell me in here or PM and ill send the entire session with all vocal tracks and the instrumental in a zip or rar file your choice

I'm not one for PMs.... Sorry...

As far as your track goes... I wouldn't mind giving it a try with my setup (if for no other reason than practice and to hear your song)...

I'm guessing you have the know-how to give me each track in a WAV format and one that is "mixed down" to at least give me an idea of where you want things (time-wise). Hit me back man... I can't say I'll do it quickly as I've got some other work on the table (for my tracks), but I'll see what I can do with it.....

I don't have audition (I'll be using Pro Tools for this)... So if you can send the above, in zip, to an email address, let me know (If the email address I give you doesn't like the large files, maybe you can send me a data cd-r with 'em on there (or something else))....

thankx man im sending you the track now

also if anyone else is interested just let me know i'd love to have more then one person mix it to compare the sound

How large is the file? Are you emailing it?

You can send it to me, I might take a crack at it.

I won't be mixing these. I figured the files would all start at the beginning of the song, but they don't. I'd really need to have Audition to get these up and running quickly. I'm not interested in taking the time to try to spot these files on the timeline.

Sorry.

alright its cool
u kno thats a good idea i should go back and do that

If you can get them all to start at the EXACT same time, I'll take a crack at it......

ill have a copy of the track with tha vocals in the exact spot in about an hour or so

I'll take a crack at it if you can email it to me.

I have audition so as long as you include the .ses file, i should be able to start working on it immediately.

I had some problems initially with the instrumental track. Since it was pre-mixed, there was some clipping with the bass drum. I applied some EQ to the track which rounded it out. I didn't do much with the vocal takes - just a bit of compression here & there to even them out and a slight touch of reverb on one of the 'ad lib' tracks. I didn't like how the hard L/R vocals were sitting in the mix so I balanced it out a little.

I added a 2nd chorus to the track and faded out.

PM sent.

thankx for that mix man....... sounds better then what I came up with.........

Well, the files are still not all timed, and I am not sure why all the files are in stereo, but here is a quick mix I did - never mixed rap before - would have liked to have the music broke down to tracks as well.....

...and, it's just one verse. :D

Unless you can sing in stereo.... :)

Link updated - bumped the rate up on the mp3 - the vox got a little thin sounding on the 128, so I put it to 192.
