Wow...I can't believe it's over...It's almost sad. I posted something at me site, in the MIX-OFF forum that you all might want to check out....Can't thank everyone enough.

Cool, just wanted to pipe in and say I think that's really awesome what you did here. Running the contest and giving out such good prizes. For the record, I said I'd take part and would have loved to, but had too many computers problems in that time frame. Awesome contest though, it's been fun to pay attention to, and cheers to everyone involved :) :) :D

True, Rami, and all the Cool Kats...Thanks. This was a fun project to play with, and it always helps in the learning process...I had fun... :D

Yeah, once more thanks alot for judging and thanks rami. And congratulations for the "winners" ofcourse.

Wow, thanks guys. It's been a really fun experience and I think I learned a lot doing this. Thanks to RAMI, to True and the Unknown Judges, and all the others contestants!

It's Over

Congratulations to all the winners! :)

Thank you to RAMI for the great song to mix...

And thank you to all the Judges for your hours of listening!

True,

Are you still planning to post the details of the judge's notes for us to see and learn more about how our mixes were viewed?

Thanks.

Thanks Rami !!!
Thanks True !!!
Thanks Judges !!!

I Already Post A Message In Rami´s Forum Too

Love You :)

Ciro

Ahhh, fineally it's over!!! Big thanks to RAMI, TRUE, the Judges, and the other mixers....

This is truly a great honor for me as it was the very first tune of someone elses I ever mixed!! To be nominated in every catagory, and to win one of them is a blessing, espically coming in as late as i did...

A year ago I wouldda' had probably 10-12 mixes of which wouldda' taken me hours and days to get to something I would have even considered entering... I think on this one I had 2...One the first day of mixing and another the second that I tweaked from the first after listening to it in my car. (I use my car w/ a stock POS stereo for reference, cause if it sounds good there it should sound okay elsewhere :))

After listening to all the mixes, I really learned alot...and that is the most important thing for me...I now hear what I would of done differently...The number one thing I would have changed it the amount of high end in my mix...It was alot brighter than it should have been...other than that, I really wasn't expecting to have gotten this far let alone win the most imagnitive...which for me is great...It tells me that I hear things in songs (little neuances) that I like to bring out, tweak, change and add....and that what I do adds to the tune rather than make it distracting....And being nominated in all three catagorys tells me that I'm not too far off frome being half way decent at this....Because I love doing this stuff, that really means alot to me...

Sorry for the rant, but I'm giving myself a pat on the back cause I am truly excited about this....!

Thanks!

I'm hoping the winners will give us a bit of an insight on their equipment and perhaps some of their techniques...?

:)

Thanx for all those comments, guys. It was a blast and too bad it had to end with only a few people being rewarded.

I know that Phil (who won) doesn't really come here too much, but I'll try to get him to post a little bit of what he did at my site.. Giraffe's mix was incredible, too. I know he re-amped the bass, but that's all I know. There are many honourable mentions, but I won't name them because the people I leave out will stand out more than the people I name.
I'll just say this: I have a soft spot for CIRO's mix, but that's only because he seemed to approach it closer to how I would mix it than anyone else. Doesn't mean it's the best, but it's just closer to how I heard the tune.

Besides that, everyone had something in their mix that made me raise an eyebrow and go "Yeah, that is cool".

Every time someone chooses a prize, I'll take the picture of that prize down and post about it in my forum.

I can't thank everyone enough.

:) :) :) :)

I started a few threads of interest in my "MIX-OFF" forum. Hopefully, the winners will be gracious enough to share a little bit.

Also, in the "MIXES" thread on my forum, I put the names back beside the links so that everyone can see who's mix is which.

Thanx again.

Without knowing where the sore spots of our own mixes are, the techniques of the winners would be mute. I need to know where I screwed up or the whole object of the contest will be a bust. [no Dogman not that type of bust] :D

I agree 100%. That was the point I was asking for in an earlier post.

Ah...I see your point. Well, then it's up to the judges to turn over those notes. We might have to subpeana them. :D

yea, this poor horse is weasing pritty hard.
and i think it's gotta bum leg.
and i need some glue......

IDO, who it turns out is one of the judges (that sneaky bugger)...posted an in-depth critique of every single mix in my site.

Excuse the shitty formatting in my forum, but I think it's very understandeable anyway....Thanx alot, Ido.
