This was a very good song. You are a great singer. I heard a few mistakes on the guitar, but Im a guitarist-lol... Overall except for the file size - I have no other complaints. Good Job.

I just wanted to stop by and tell you again that I've listened to it so many times, that I think I may have actually uncovered a mistake. At 4:21-4:23, your backup "miracle" is flat.

ChrisHarris Hey Chris, yup...... its a direct (piezo to board) and a mic'd channel (shitty dynamic). I used the onboard effects of the 788 to add chorus and verb to the direct signal. I think thats what made the ac. tone tolerable....... lotsa shit on it I know that i used more mic channel than direct, but how much more im not sure of. .........there's more off key vocs than just the line you mentioned man........ UGH! thanks for listening man. btw: the guitar was an Ovation Celebrity 12 string (strung down to 6) ..........again........ugh!

Critque stuff: The hi hat actually sounds louder than the snare. It doesn't sound bad for a canned snare, so I'd bring it up a touch. Maybe cut that hi hat a bit. Very nice guitar work too....is that you?
The vocals are excellent. That first line is powerful. I like your voice a LOT. Would you like to do some harmonies on "Look Away"? I know that means you have to send another CD. Boo hoo. You can PM me about that....

You absolutely must post the version with real drums. A good drummer will raise this song to even higher places. Well done dude!

I was trying to think of a way to describe the thing I like about your voice, and this is what I came up with..

you have a mans voice.. not trying to sound gay or anything, but I have like a kids voice, and your voice sounds manly..

o.k. great stuff G.. your good at everything man.. great voice, nice guitar playing and bass, the recording sounds great, except the cymbals sound too loud.. the cymbals should be lower and the bass drum and snare should be louder.. thats my only beef.. the vocals sounded a bit low in a few spots too.. this is another good one G.. no doubt..

I have to listen a few more times, I'll be back when I have more complaints.

WOW! I didn't like this--I LOVED this! For some reason I was expecting to hear "Miracles" by Marty Balin (was that the Starship?). Instead, I get to experience a great piece of writing (this is your tune?) and a superb production.

Damn, I gotta say that I love your voice. I mean it. You have a great rock voice--flavors of Steve Winwood and Dave Matthews--plus your own thing. Your voice is special and unique--better than most voices I hear on current big selling stuff. Either you are being too modest or you just don't know what you've got there.

And this song--man, this is really a knockout. Its the kind of thing where if I heard it on radio, I'd want to know who did it. I'd buy the album--no questions asked.

Did you get 5 stars yet? If not, I'm adding them. Great. I'll be curious to hear your re-do. It will be hard to top this one!

This is excellent, your vocals are sooooo cool. The guitars are beautiful sounding and played superbly. The song moves and changes perfectly. The drums even sound OK (I'm a drummer and picky about them). Only comment on drums are the cymbals were a bit strange, don't know exactly how, and the snare and high hat in the intro were a bit loud. Otherwise great, you're way too good to be so hard on yourself, this is the second piece I've heard from you and haven't been at all disapointed. Nice work!

I liked the song. Like everyone else, I thought your singing really made it. I don't know if anyone else heard it - but I heard a little Ozzy in your voice on a phrase or two. Somewhere Sam is smiling. I also liked the bass part and the way it cut through. The guitar hook was a good one. Good little lead break at 3:13.

I had trouble understanding some of the words. Maybe that's the way you wanted it. The whole mix had a certain "tinnyness" to it. I wonder if that was one of the reasons you originally said you didn't like the mix.

But I sure liked it. Good job G-man.

i thought the vocals were one of the highlights of the song! the flanging wasn't too much and it did something for the vocals that i wouldn't have expected. sounds great. thanks for posting the vbr version. 10 megs scared me off the first time.

the drums sounded cool too. maybe a little obviously sampled in the cymbal area and the kick and snare could use some more punch to them.

this might be the first direct recorded acoustic that i ever actually liked. i don't know why but it works in this song.

this is a really good song. it sounds like some of the radio stuff i'm hearing in a way. the melody is very current imo, and the high harmony was nice too.

SluiCe Hey Tom, thanks man.... yeah, the guits are all me.... I agree about the hats.... the drums on this really need some work. I dont mind the canned intro section, but I think the live drums really would make the rest of the song much better. I think canned drums have there purpose when used right. Im a fan of alot of different hip hop artists, and i think that percussion like that has its place. For instance, I like the way that you incorporate different percussive sounds in your stuff. Although obviously not hip hop, sampled perc. sounds have there place when used tastefully....... and the tunes ive heard from you are examples of that. ........ but each thing has its place, and live drums would really be nice in the rest of this song. .....and of course i would love to throw some vocs down on your song. ......I'll PM ya.........

B.Sabbath My brother, you are waaayyyy to critical of your voice. Since ive been here, Ive heard your vocs in quite a few different contexts. I like the way that you incorporate effects to suite the style of your songs. .....and like in the tune you did w/ Pete..... they clean up nicely too. Ive noticed that youve spent alot more time getting them real tight on the last few songs youve put up. ....that is where the magic is IMO. Not everyone can be a natural like Erland...... We have to work to make our vocs sound good. ...and youve done your work. .......so cut that shit out! Feel free to tear this song apart man, thats why I put it up.

Mike, you kick ass... that's all there is to it. The reason your voice sounds so great is...? Vox training, for sure... natural talent, too (Your voice has that lower-larynx resonance many of us have difficulty achieving).

Very good song G--I thought the vox sounded great and carried the tune well--Good santana/latin feel on this. guitars sounded good though I gotta say that solo didnt exactly bowl me over-sounded like the guitar fills coulda came up in a few spots but sit pretty well as is...Mix wise-sounded real good to me-except the cymbals....like someone else said -a real drummer would really push this over the top....Anyway-I enjoyed this alot-good tune again...look forward to your next...

I haven't read all the other posts but I agree with what other's have said about your voice. It sounds great. The tune is awesome.

The drums are a little busy and the snare is somewhat poppy, hollow to me. But everything else is great.
