minor protools problem

To anybody who's got experience with Digi002 or PT LE, this is the deal. For some reason, when I hit "stop" on the transport control panel(or the board), it zeroes the clock, and sends me back to the beginning of the track. I'm pretty sure this is just some dumb setting I've got wrong, but where is it? Any clues for the clueless?-Richie

Yep....


Under your "setups" pull-down menu go to preferences. Once in preferences go to the Operations "tab"...Re-check "Timeline Insertion Follows Playback"

On the other hand if you are in "commands focus mode" (a wonderful Pro Tools place to be by the way) a single key stroke of the letter N on your keyboard will toggle back and forth between your cursor stopping where ever you hit stop or returning to zero.

Commands Focus single stroke mode is INVALUABLE. I simply could not get through my daily workload without it. Most Post engineers here mix in the commands focus break-point automation mode. I could never return to mixing with a control surface.....very slow and very inaccurate

Joseph, you're a gentleman and a scholar. I'm sure you'll be answering a few more dumb questions, as I am now in the process of making the transition from a SIAB based studio to PT. It's still slow and confusing, but with time, effort, and some help, I'll get there. Thanks again-Richie
