Hi, I have just seen a second hand Mindprint Envoice for $390

is it a good buy? Would you recommend it?

I know the Joe Meek VCq1 is a good competitor, but any feedback you have would be appreciated.

thanks again guys

Rochey, the Mind Print is a VERY nice pre. Actually it's more of a channel strip since it has EQ and a compressor. Does the one you're looking at have the digital output option? If so, it's definately a good price. I love mine. It kicks ass on a snare.

Actually, I found out, that throught the right connections, i can get a brand new one for $440 brand new.

it's good to talk to distributors.

my only problem is that it has no Digital out (which would make it ideal for the spdif in on my soundcard (delta1010). The digital out would cost me another $140 i think.

and to make things even more fun. I have no money at the moment, but 2 weeks at home in my studio. (I work in another country for an electronics company)

so... credit card fun and pay back, or wait until I have the money... my mind is playing wholy hell with me.

I have to brag. A good friend of mine owns a music store here in town and I got one with the digital option for $180. Sometimes, life is good.
:D

closeouts

Not too long ago Guitar Center and Sam Ash were closing out of the envoice. I called guitar center and got the closest store that had one to ship it to me for $299. I couldn't resist after hearing the price. It was a floor model, but for me to be able to own one in any condition is well worth the money.

You might want to try calling these stores and see if they have any more in any of their stores. If you call the closest store to you they should be able to search other stores and check their stock. Good luck.

I've bought one aswell after hearing great stuff about it. Only thing is its useless untill i buy my computer (3 months time!!!)
Does anyone have any concerns that there isnt complete conrole over attack and release times?

I'm still lovin' MY Envoice! ;)

I like the versatility of being able to color the sound or keep it transparent.

You don't get that with a Meek unit.

Rochey, I must be getting old. I just re-read your original post and caught the second hand part. $390 would be steep for a used one. I need glasses (with scotch, ice and a twist please, thank you very much).:o

track rat,

$180??

you lucky bastard.

If you ever want to sell it for $200, call me first :D yeah, right. Like anyone would ever sell an envoice. I doubt that I have ever seen one on ebay

I had to pinch myself on the way home. Yea, it's a sweet piece of gear.:D

Yeah, i noticed that Sam ash was closing out all their inventory of Mind Print products...why's that? I'm looking for a new pre...are they worth it? Or will I be looking for another unit in six months...I'm just needing it to lay down voice...and nothing else.

Thanks
