We literally JUST launched our new website yesterday, and (i hope) got all the little kinks out of it by now.

Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!

By the way, I did all the designing on the site, with a buddy doing the html stuff.

Cheers!

Excellent, great job. I have heard your stuff at the other place, just listened to one of your downloads. Your website goes very well with the style of music you have. The site looks really great, everything works, etc.

Pretty hard to criticize it since nothing is wrong with it  If you held a gun to my head I could come up with two very nitpicky stupid things:

A. Proboards is run by morons. Looks like you dont use it anyways. I had one that was popular and it got shut down for basically no reason whatsoever, Again it looks like you wont need or use it.

B. If it was me, I would snazz up your individual bios a bit. I know how hard you worked, had this mastered ( saw the mp3 clinic thingy), working band etc.THe comedy stuff is fine, but too much of it and you run the risk of being just some guys who put out a CD like anyone can these days. I personally would leave most of the funny stuff but throw in more "standard music bio" stuff.

Best of luck with this, I hope you sell a truckload.

Oooh, I have another one that is waaaaaaaaaaay more nitpicky, type A stuff ( shows my nitpicky, type A personality),

On your myspace thing, you say your music sounds like Sheena E.

Two ladies get confused a LOT: Sheena Easton and Sheila E. :p I know this because I have played with Sheena Easton several times, and everybody says " How was your gig With Sheila E?" Different people.

OK, done nitpicking. Nothing more to see here folks, move along in an orderly fashion.

Excellent work! Very impressive. The only thing I would consider is changing the font color. Gray on white and white on gray are a little difficult to read, unless that's the style you're going for.

Yup, nice site. A lot of artists have really bad sites. Here is one of a local artist, she is incredible but web-clueless. She thinks this is fine.

http://jennijohnson.net/

Personally, I would put up a "cover page", or whatever they call it, with a "click to enter" button, or that fades to the main page in a few seconds. The site is good, but I always look for something to draw me in at first. :)

Eh. Its not THAT bad. Granted it aint no Bagoftoys site but is ok.

OK, the flaming letters have to go...

Tait,

Great website - just great. I really liked your old one, but this is improved. I like your music, too.

By the way, that Jenni Johnson site is kinda funny (especially the flaming letters), but I'm doubting she rely's on a web presence like a band like Bag of Toys, but you never know . . .

I like the font colors - and just the whole color scheme period. The grey text on white background gives it a sort of soft/elegant feel that goes well with the greens, IMO.

I also think you used the perfect ammount of photos - just browsing around I enjoyed seeing pics of the members of the band, but they didn't overshadow the other content on the pages.

Well done!

Who designed this and what did you use?

(I currently use Mambo for my site - its a PHP content-management system that works pretty well, but it doesn't look quite as snazzy as your site does)

By the way, I noticed your CD is sold out at CDBaby - pretty cool stuff. . . and "nooner" is a great title

hey thanks for the feedback guys!

dude, that chicks site is hell-arious! maybe it's just me but she seems like one of satan's personal singers with the flaming letters and dark black background. I've seen much worse, but i can't look at that without picturing the gates of hell.

as for who designed it, that would be me. I'm actually a graphic designer, and design sites for a living, so it was nice that i could do that without paying someone. although it does suck that I end up constantly working on stuff cuz i'm the only one qualified to work on it (posters, cd packaging, flyers, website...all that crap), but then again, we could never afford to have someone else do it, so it all works out. you were asking what was used to design it, well it's actually all designed in photoshop, the i break it out into gifs or jpegs and i shoot them over to a guy i've worked with for years at this company, and he put it all together in raw html.

the main intro page isn't a bad idea, but a lot of times it just leads to more clicking. good if we want to promote something though...like the CD or a show. I'll probably do something like that for those occasions. Thanks guys!
