Hi I hope this Isn't to stupid of a question but Sonar 6 was expensive for my 6.50 an hour so I'd like to get my moneys worth. I need a bit of help. I'm trying to run a "softsynth" (vsti) and everytime I import the midi track I assign the channel to the "softsynth" and put the settings the way I like them but when I push play or try to mixdown it goes back to a random default setting on the plugin. I've tried this with all of the synths that came with the bundle and also with a few free ones I got from kvraudio.com. I thought it was automation or something but I can't seem to figure it out. I've asked a few people what to do and most reply with.... "Go buy reason" or something. Maybe this is more of a midi problem.

thanks

I'm not really sure what you're doing wrong. I'd recommend working 3 more hours and getting the most excellent "Sonar Power" book. It's an easy read and VERY step-by-step on such topics.

Thanks I guess I'll have to try that I was hoping this was a frequent problem someone here might be able to help me with to save time. Thanks I appreciate your response.

Among all the midi sequencing softwares I have seen, Sonar is by far the most flexible and convenient sequencer. I don't use softsynth so I am not sure where your problem is, but I am sure you will figure out and enjoy what sonar has to offer.
