do you need a midi keyboard to use session drummer in Home Studio 2004? Thanks
 
No.
To use the session drummer you need a sound source,probably the VSC in your case and you must load files from the pattern window into the song window.
Lastly you must make sure the settings in the track window and the settings window in session drummer match.The settings window in session drummer is accessed by clicking on the "gear" icon.
Session drummer is a great tool.You can make you own patterns ands save them in it.Allowing you to build drum tracks quickly and rearrange them in a flash.
