I have 2 computers. Both have the standad soundblaster midi interfaces attached to the joystick port. I have a keyboard connected to each one. I would like to sometimes use the keyboard connected to computer A for midi input to computer B without constantly changing cables. They are also connected by an ethernet card. Any real cheap solutions? Thanks for looking..Peace

...record in PC A, then transfer the data to computer B using the network. Is there any problem ? Do both have same MIDI apps ?

:)

Thx James for the reply. Wish it was that simple. It's not an issue of recording midi data. It has to do with live playing of a soft synth and the placement of the keyboards in the room. I would like to switch the midi keyboard at times to the faster computer. The unplugging is getting to be a pain. I'm just looking for a cheap solution and maybe hope to avoid another $75-100 cost of a merge or thru box to connect them all. As it is just Midi input only, I had hoped for some sort of Y cable. The ole wallet is hurtin !! Any other ideas would be welcome news to my non-existant budjet..Again...THX....Peace

You can chain the controllers with the midi cables but you will have to give up the input on one of them. If they are both hooked up with their IN's attached to the computer OUT's then you have to give up one of those connections.

There are no midi Y cables. Only mergers and thru boxes but you can get them for around $50 new, less used.
