OK I try to do as much with the computer and freeware as I can because I'm to cheap to buy equiptment, but I'm having some troubles coming up with a setup for applying guitar effects.
I want to mic my guitar amp, but i also want to hear effects.
The thing is I do all my recording in one room, so I can't mic the amp and apply a plugin effect and listen to how it sounds over my monitors..
I have one of them M-audio omni studios.. any ideas on what i can do ?
Is there any way i can do something like this: plug guitar into omni preamps, select effects in cubase, go out the omni somehow and into the guitar amp, then mic the amp.. is this possible ?
I tried that going from the direct outs on the omni into the amp, but i wasn't getting any sound..

have you given any thought to using a line6 pod?
for a home-recorder it has tons of amp sounds and effects...

Yah I've actually thought bout something like that.. was also looking into the sansamp PSA-1.. Cause I also play bass too..
but I dunno.. wish I could afford it, and amplitube sounds pretty good
