Mic Preamp on Zoom MRS-4

Does anyone know how to activate the microphone preamp on the zoom mrs-4 digital multitrack recorder. It's advertised as having a pre-amp, but I can't see any reference to it in the manual.

I've owned a MRS-4 for a while now and I never knew this.

Technically the preamp is part of the input level adjustment. There is a Mic Limiter insert effect which might be what the ads refer to.
