Hello
I recently purchased a Behringer C-3 condensor mic so i could start recording some demos at home. I also purchased a phantom power supply box to use with the mic. This is a really basic question probably with a simple answer but the problem is I've got a single xlr cable one end connected to the mic the other going into the power supply pack through mic input however when i turn the phantom power on the green led is not lighting up and i not getting any sort of signal. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it will be something simple but any help much appreciated.

Thanks

What is the specific make and model of the phantom power supply?

To what is the output from the phantom box connected?

Hi there
This is probably an obvious question to ask, but as I'd imagine that it would need batteries or mains power to operate, have you got the batteries in correctly or the correct power pack connected to the mains?
(once that potential source of problem has been eliminated then other avenues can be investigated)

Oh, and let us know what make/model of unit it is so we can do some google investigations for you.

Just checking but is your cable XLR to XLR...? Phantom power wont transmit if its XLR to Quarter inch jack... sometimes its the simple things...

Thanks for the replies. The phantom supply I have is actually the Berhinger PS400 as above. I've worked out I was not supplied with an adaptor when I purchased the phantom power supply consequently I brought a DC 12 Volt adaptor separately but that does not work with this phantom power supply. Does anyone know sort of adaptor i need?

Thanks

The power supply is supposed to be suppled with the phantom power unit, why did you not get one? Did you buy it new?
