Master Baiter
Just a heads-up if anyone is looking for something to store mics in. Harbor Freight Tools, home of cheap Chinese merchandise (of which some is pretty good), is having a "sidewalk sale" this weekend in Reno (and I presume elsewhere).

They have a four compartment wooden case for $30, which seems well constructed and finished, and an aluminum case for $16 that seems very functional. Sorry I can't seem to link directly to the website display, but you can find them by item number. http://www.harborfreight.com/

I bought two of each - should give me room to store 15 or 20 mics.

Doc,

I have two of the aluminum cases that I picked up at one of the giant "do-it-yourself" hardware stores a couple of years ago. The included foam was pre-sliced into 1/2" squares, so it was simple enough to make pockets for different mics. I then added a piece of foam, about 2 1/2" thick to the inside of the lid. Works great! I carry most of my PA mics in these two. I really need to get a couple more.

The wooden chests would look really nice and professional in the studio. I'll have to look for those.

Thanks for the heads-up!!

Ive seen the wooden box at Odd Lots of all places, they also sell another more expensive version at HomeDepot/Lowes.

Can't find those at the site
You're right - I can't find them this morning either - they've been discontinued from the site apparently. All the info was included in my pic anyway.

It seems they are only available at the retail stores - you'll have to ask there if there is one close to you.

Yeah. That's what I have. I bought mine at Menards for $11.95ea. Then I added a bit of 'eggshell' packing to the lid. Works like a charm and darn cheap. :D
