Hey, ive been mixing and recording for a few years now, but i have never owned my own gear, i finally have a setup, when i record and have the click track on i can barely hear it over the monitors...

-Presonus audiobox usb
-krk rokit 5
-cubase AI 5

setup is is basic, have the monitors plugged in by 1/4in, headphones plugged in the headphone jack.... guitars plugged in through inputs in the front, my question is: with my setup is there anyway to have just the click into the headphones?

thanks for the help

That depends on your interface, although it's not usually an issue.
When recording the monitors should be off, and when mixing you can turn off the metronome, right?

Anyway, ordinarily the headphone output is a mirror output the main outputs, but my presonus firestudio mobile doesn't work like that.
Main outs are 1+2, and headphone outs are 3+4.
Perhaps the audio box works like that too?

I think there's a mirroring option somewhere, but setting up as above would allow for independent mixes to be sent to the speakers and headphones.
How you do that depends on your software.

Don't know about AI5, but in Cubase 6, you can go to transport>metronome set up and adjust the click volume there. I know it worked in LE4 where I started. It may be a bit of a juggling act to find the right balance between playback and click. You can also check your Cubase manual for info about I/O routing. Also, your interface may not be able to do the type of routing you need.
