Neat song. Sounds like you have a great start. The mid-range on the guitars sound a little harsh. I would play around with the eq on them and see if you can get a little easier listening tone out of them. Great job!

Sounds pretty good, apart from the kick drum being completely drowned out! The kick is what drives rock music, get it up there! It might help to reduce some of those frequencies in the bass part.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The guitars do sound a bit harsh but as it's quite a modern metal sound I was going for I want them to sound quite brash and up front. Will see if I can reign them in without losing too much in-your-faceness (if that's a thing).

The kick is pumped pretty hard but I'm sure I can make it cut through better. It's got quite standard EQ and compression etc on it. The bass is a beast though. My old bass just never filled out the whole bottom end even if you tried to blanket boost the low frequencies. This ibanez sr500 just seems to give great thick bottom end which means maybe I do need to get the kick going a bit harder :)

Better or worse? Can only listen on my headphones at the moment.

Better, but still not loud enough. It sounds like it's been mixed by a bassplayer. :D

Look, the essence of a good mix is BALANCE.:D It sounds like you're pretty proud of that bass guitar, but if it isn't meshing with the rest of the instruments, then it's not serving the song. The kick and the bass should sound like a unit. The vocals, bass and guitars are well-balanced together and sound well recorded. Take everything except the kick drum and snare down two clicks, then raise your master by a click. Listen carefully and if your drums aren't driving the song, do it again.

Agree with Bubba, Kick is at times lost in the mix. Maybe add a little more thump to it and make sure the bass frequencies are not covering it up.
