I recently bought a mesa dual rectifier, which has some amazing high gaing sounds. i really like its sound, but its almost too much,

Im running it through an organe 2x12 and its run in steroe with a egnater tol50 i cant seem to dial in a nice chimmey tone. any advice on dial ins? or would someone reccomend another amp that has balls but will let every not sing in a distorted chord! PLEASE HELP BEFORE MY 30 DAYS IS UP!

which rectifier did you buy and what's chimey?

if you're looking for a warm smooth distortion this may not be the amp for you. it takes some getting used too. a very small change in EQ can cause a significant change in tone. this can somewhat difficult to get used used. the amp does have a smooth tight side, but it can go to harsh and stiff with very small changes.

speaker will play a significant role. I'm not familiar with your cab/speaker.

a Mark 4 may be better suited

Spell check!
When I think chimey I think Vox. The recto is not that, its more aggressive, mean.
Try the orange channel with the gain backed off and mess with the presense and high controls. If you dont get what you want there, you prob wont. Try the sponge and rectifier settings on the back too. They affect the tone a bit.

the cab has V30's.

Thanks for the help.

I was also told that Dr.Z amps may be what i'm looking for i know very little about Dr.Z and i didn't really see them as a very heavy sounding amp..

My neighbor just a got a free one. He's a subcontractor working on Salad Days Studio, and Brian McTernan let him play through a Plexi, which then blew up, so Brian gave him a Dual Rectifier.

A Fender Super Reverb. Don't dismiss it until you try it. When its cranked, chords are distorted with balls, but the notes still ring though.
I have a gut feeling it would go great with that Egnater. ;)
