me again, back on the cheap tele hunt

Here's a pic of mine. The neck isn't as smooth as I was hoping; not like the maple necks of some Fender Tele's I've seen. I think some kind of varnish will get me what I want. I have to research a little. they advertise that it plays like 'Butter'. I don't think that's the case, but I don't think it will take a lot of effort to make it that way. that's my goal.

It's definitely got the tone. And glad to hear I'm on the right track with the bandit. Pure luck seeing as I bought that thing like 15 years ago and it sat in storage for the last 12. lol

they definitely look sweet......gonna order one when i get back

Don't really know anything about the GFS guitars other than what I read. As to the original question about Squier vs. MIM, I really think that the Squier 'Vintage Vibe' series teles are the real deal if you want that clean tele twang. Necks are pretty nice, too. Just make sure not to confuse the Vintage Vibe with their Vintage Modified. Those things suck, IMO.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

I could sell you the Tele I am about to refinish, but seeing as I don't know anything, I'd probably not know how to describe it, or what price to ask, or even identify it as a Tele. Hell, it's obvious I don't even know how to type, or use the internet, or anything...

So, it seems you will miss out on a good deal. Too bad.
What a whiny loser.

Hey, kcearl is the one that lost out. Actually, he can still buy this Tele- hell, Greg, you can too! First one who deposits $2,000 in my payPal account gets it! :D

I was wanting to buy it for way less. Thanks for ruining it for everyone, you clods.

Nobody wants your adipose stained tele with donut crumbs stuck to it.

Hey, those donut crumbs were dropped there by none other than Eddy Money, while he was still a New York cop! Why else would it be worth two grand??

(This has actually turned out to be fun!)

I bought a Chinese made copy of a copy that was bought & delivered for AUS$80 when we were 0.8 of a US$. The frets hangover & have to be filed, the fretboard has a rough edge on the underside that I have to sand back, the neck hasn't been lacquered or shellacked at all (raw wood but smooth finish otherwise) AND the scratch plate is mis aligned BUT it sounds like a Tele & chicken plucking sounds abound when called for. It's probably a dog of a guitar but I'm a toothless dog of a guitar player so we're well matched. How are ya kc? When do you hop on a prison hulk and head for the colonies?

im fine dude, still in blighty...and looking like im here longer than expected, my flight was next week but ill be here until september/october...never mind, getting a bit of cash together for some purchases while im here, will make my return even better :)

It doesn't take much convincing. Once you play a Tele, you're ruined for anything else. :D

a pack of lies!!!:D

they're actually a pretty well rounded guitar, if you don't play any hard-ish rock music
