I've got white noise on my channel one input of my MD8. When you record, arm the track, and arm the thrack to the cue mix it's there.
The only work around is to record onto track three and group it to 1. (I'm talkin stereo recording onto normal minidisc) Thus I'm unable to use XLR this way and I want to fix this.
Is there a possibility the phantom power fried that channel somehow? Another query is the potability, I have this machine in a homemade roadcase and ship it to practice twice a week, I'm wondering if pressure on the controls could cause a bad connection on the board underneath the channel strip.

I gotta fix this. Any advice would be valued.

thanx

sounds like you partitioned it to Track 1 Input...
do you get the same on both types input nad have you tried effects in?

wonder if it's the track electronics or a bad connector.

I've utillized this track in many ways since trying to find the problem. Yes at, first I thought it was my XLR cable I swaped cables, I changed mics and tried the 1/4" input... still there. I got it home where there's nothing patched to the inputs and as soon as I open that PB / mic/line button to arm the track it hisses.

I dread I'm gonna have to open it up. Also I gotta build a better road case that doesn't put and pressure on the controls. (ie, secure the machine to the bottom, and use softer foam on top.)

Anyone seen anything for these machines? This is the first MD8 model ever released.

Thanks.
