I recently bought a 4-channel reel to reel tape deck. I want to make it as flexible as I can so I want to connect it to a matrix switch that I will then hook up to my DAW. I'm mostly interested in playback but being able to record would be nice too.
The connectors on the deck are all RCA 1/8" type.
I've seen lots of switchers on ebay that have "Block Connections" for the audio along with many units with BNC style connectors.
Are these non-RCA style units worth considering or should I shy away from them and continue looking for units with RCA connectors?
What issues would I face with a non-RCA unit?
