Any opinions on which reasonably-priced (say <= $500) packages are best for acoustic-based music?

I'll be exporting .WAV files from a Fostex VF-160 HD-based multitracker to a Gateway PC.

Thanks in advance!

all I've tested so far is the Oxygen II VST plugin mastering tool. I think it's very good and reasonably priced ($200), but I can't compare it to other tools.

dont know the US price of it, but Waves Mastering Bundle is nice.

Waveburner Pro from Steinberg. Comes complete with Nuendo plug-ins and you'll have money to spare.

Ummmmmmmm...I believe he is looking for mixing software guys.

Too many to choose from. I personally use Sonar. Vegas Pro, Nuendo, Cubase, N-Tracks, Cool Edit Pro, all of them have their "charms" and "nasty attitudes" to them. :)

Find the interface that you like looking at the most. They all can be had for your price range.

mixing software

hi
for all my pro work I use vegas. Fast effective and flexable, all depends what you need it for I guess as a creative tool or as a working tool
