Hallo, im not shure is it right place to write this, but i ll try ! what plugins better to use in mastering ? I have plugins from Waves. what is plugin chain who is first plugin in chain.. who second.... ? How can i get smooth and soft sounding song at home ? Is it possible with plugins only from Waves ?

You use what you need, with the settings you need, in the order you need.

There is no magic plugin, there is no magic chain, there are no magic settings.

The only thing I can submit right off the top is: Anomalous corrections first, spectral next, dynamic last - As a "rule of thumb" (but not necessarily a rule). A decent EQ, a decent compressor (no maul-the-band goofiness unless the mixes are screwed up enough to require it) and let the mixes decide.

In 30 years working as a recording engineer, 17 of those as a mastering engineer I had read a lot of this kind of topics and its amazing and it made me wondering.

I'm amazed that you finally posted something after registering almost 3 years ago! :D

;)

But yeah...love the OP's questions....it's too tempting to just toss out a few plug-in names at him. :)
Waves has good plugs...but there is no formula for what to use and in what order. The mix tells you that.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY...somebody have to stay away from the internet and make music.:guitar:

True - mastering is amazing!

What is amazing is people asking the same question over and over. If you are not a mastering engineer, please stay away and let the professionals do their job.

You need to use all the waves plugins, in backwards chronological order in your chain, and set all the presets to "default superfunk"... that'll give you phat beats

That's a load of bull. I guess we should hire professional engineers to track for us too. And mixing professionals to mix for us too. Hell, let's all hire professional session players. No thanks. Part of the point and appeal of "home recording" is not having to hire a bunch of yahoos to do things for you. With the some practice and what are very likely to be stolen plug-ins, the OP can get very good mastering results that will rival or surpass many of the "pro" mastering guys out there.

Isn't mastering just brickwall limiting??? I mean, how hard can that be??:facepalm::eek::facepalm::eek:

:laughings::D:laughings::D:laughings::D:laughings::D:laughings::D:laughings::D:D:D

(I'm just kidding guys)

I say the same thing about dentistry.. How hard can it be...but then I wonder why my kids always run screaming when I reach for the dremel.
