I like it because it has good melody that is easy to sing along to... the vocals are easy to hear, it makes you wanna tap your feet, and it has a bunch of those fiddles in it with some backing tracks from Lurch.
so... this is a childhood fantasy come true to do these old pop tunes, eh?
I'd really like it when I hear the dissonance in some of your compositions.... ya know that stuff that gets tomatoes airborne, and stuff like that.... Bartok-ish, etc....
Happy New year to you too, and all the fellers. The new Monitors seem pretty good, I had to work all day so I havent had much time to play with em. I will keep the Tannoys handy, it's good to have another pair. With the new KRKs, I can instantly here some things that werent working out.
I am going to try to get better sound quality for the next CD. I am taking it more seriously, gonna try and get a new mic, reposition my rig and actually learn how to record.
Hi DavidK...I hope you will not abandon Anitra's Dance completely. You have made a great start on the project and it's very satisfying as it sits in the revised mp3. A few tweaks here and there and it could be one of your finer works. I had one of those flashback-back-back moments as the swept filters brought to mind the freaked wind organ sound in "Mr Kite" from the Sgt Pepper album. (farout man)

No, its not abandoned. The revised version stands, except the strings will be real.
I am thinking of making this CD differently: I am going to lay down all the synths first, then all the strings at once. I am hopefully going to get some better gear and trying to find a place to record the strings. My living room isnt cutting it.
