A friend of mine gave me one of those Marolboro promotional guitars that I'm letting a student use until he buys a guitar for himself. I have no idea who builds these guitars or even where they're made, because there are absolutely no markings on them at all.
I tightened the truss rod, and achieved very nice intonation with a very slight forward bow.
The 1st and 6th string height at the 2d fret is 2/64" (.031).
The 6th string height at 12th fret is 5/64" (.078).
The 1st string height at 12th fret is 4/64" (.062).
The height of the other strings at the 12th fret are right around 5/64"--6/64" (.078--.093). I guess not too shabby for a simple truss-rod adjustment . I'll put new strings (same size) on it soon and see what happens.
Question: I have a few ideas, but, I'd like to hear what others think about how should I approach reducing the saddle?--assuming that the string-heights stay the same after I re-string it. I do realize that at least 1/2 of the saddle-height must stay embedded.
Any advice much appreciated.
