Hey everyone,

I recently signed up for a website called Fiverr (Thank you stumble). Anyway, It is basically a website where you can do a "Gig" and get $5 from it. So I have a bit of spare time and decided to advertise myself doing a bit of voiceover work, just to test the waters like, and I have my first happy customer. But my question is, what, in your opinions is the best way to market online services?

I'm used to the old approach of get some business cards and network. That's grand for the day to day. But when I come home I want to be able to sit down and have say 2 gigs waiting for me to get a few pound extra you know?

Anyone got any clues on how to market your recording online?

Any type, I just added a gig in the mean time for tidying up audio files blah blah. I suppose the question is, How does one network in the digital domain. I have no real digital clients I have real life ones. Should I look at making an ad? buying advertising? FB Twitter etc? Get my own site?

Yup.

Money (or lack of) is what has effectively halted my advancement. I am, however, getting some side work through old online collaborators, so I guess word of mouth (and actual ability) is still a viable option even on the intrawebs.

The old ways are always viable in Business! Reach out to people you know and ask them to ask around. I had a friend who did not know I wrote music come up to me and ask me if I could write jingles. She saw I had posted some music on FB and was curious. Nothing came of it, but it tells you that it can work. Utilize your network of friends and family to get the word out. Good luck!
