"Mama, I'm Coming Home" with RAMI on vocals

The pointy guitar bit is just a joke. But good mixes and stuff does matter. It's not elitism. I'm not talking about you, just in general. If someone tears apart a mix, and their own mixes suck, then you have to consider the source. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but not all opinions are credible. I could tell Lebron James how I think he should set up a pick and roll, but he'd be stupid to listen to me.

Another example, you make cookie monster death metal, or whatever it's called. Are you going to take the criticisms of say, some kid rapper seriously? If some teenage girl pop star said your guitar tones have too much midrange, are you going to go change everything because of that? No. You wouldn't. You have to sometimes consider the source.

I was joking as well and I get what you're saying. Keep in mind with me it's not so much that I wouldn't take someones advice seriously based on their genre of music or their opinion on my guitar tone, it has more to do with I'm not sure I would be able to figure out how to do it. I would be more likely to take the advice if someone game me a brief explanation on how to make the needed changes. My problem has always been not knowing how. So, I end up getting frustrated and saying fuck this shit it's done.

With the death metal stuff I go into it well aware that majority of people will not like it and that I will receive a ton of criticism. When I was working on my last project I took everyone's opinion into consideration and tried a ton of stuff you guys recommended and still wasn't able to figure out how to make it any better. We all learn as we go :thumbs up:

I would have, but I wasn't around here at the time that thread was going. I only noticed it about a week ago. "P.S. I love You" might be far-fetched to pull off. But I might have suggested something like "Helter Skelter".

To be honest, I can see why you'd be more choosy about who's advice you'd take for your style of music. It's a very specific style and most people don't get it unless they're really into it. I wouldn't blame you if you blew off most criticism unless it came from someone who really understood what you do.

I'm into almost every kind of music. I love music in general. I only don't like new radio/TV music. To me it's like assembly line productions. It doesn't seam to be artistic. So, I find myself listening to old music or low budget music because at least it might have something creative or original about it.

I don't take anyone's advice on my death metal vocals only because the people who actually listen to that kind of music love my vocals. When I'm doing something that isn't death metal I do scrap it or re-record it until I get it as close as possible. I have some songs I never finished just because I couldn't pull off the vocals. :(

I just youtubed "PS I love You". I've never heard that song in my life. If I had to choose, I'd rather do that one than "Helter Skelter". I did a halfway decent version of "Sloop John B", so I think I could pull off "PS I Love You".

The new mix link in the OP is broken but the embedded player is working.
The guitars seem a lot more present - improvement there.
Got no nits - sounds good to me....

Thanks. I think that that might be a Soundcloud error. I currently can't use ANY embedded SC links.

Man I go away for a few hours and this thread as grown 4 pages worth. I thought the first one was fine vocal wise for being a cover but most everyone thinks they have room for improvement regardless if anyone else sees/hears it or not. The only thing that stuck out for me was the guitar sounded out of tune.....but I won't say anything else for fear if being persecuted in this thread hahahaha

This is a no-fun zone. :spank:

I re-recorded the guitas just for you though :p

With all that fuss about the vocals I kinda wish I'd heard the first version, but the one I heard sounded great!
I don't know the original and didn't realise it was an Ozzy song.
Funny enough, I was going to comment that I thought I heard a bit of Brit about your delivery, so there you go.

Whole thing sounds really cool to me. Interesting to hear RAMI out of context.

I still think it sounds fine. It's definitely different in the enunciation and emphasis on syllables but I couldn't honestly say that I'd throw a hamster at a tree over it.
Overall, the 2nd take is better though.

You guys are acting like I have a spider. That's making my pig whistle.
Maybe we should let this thread come to an end. Because as we know, everything has an end, except for a sausage, which has two.

Whoah! Woah! Relax, man. There's no reason to get your nose hairs in a burning trajectory over Moscow.
